Which of these accurately describes the current rules for climbing Mount Fuji?

Question 3 of 5
Mount Fuji introduced its first climbing fee on the Yoshida Trail in 2024 at ¥2,000, aimed at managing overcrowding and safety after years of overtourism complaints. The fee has since doubled and expanded: as of the 2025 and 2026 climbing seasons, all four trails, Yoshida, Subashiri, Gotemba, and Fujinomiya, charge a uniform ¥4,000 entry fee, payable online in advance or in cash at the trailhead gate. The Yoshida Trail, the most popular route from Tokyo, keeps its daily cap of 4,000 climbers, and its gate closes overnight, roughly 2pm to 3am, unless you have a confirmed mountain hut reservation, specifically to discourage risky overnight "bullet climbs" straight to the summit. The season itself is still short, typically opening in early July and closing by mid-September, so anything outside that window means no huts, no facilities, and real danger.
