The New TeamLab Borderless in Azabudai Hills Guide
Tokyo is home to some of the world’s most futuristic attractions, and one of the most spectacular is the new TeamLab Borderless digital art museum in Azabudai Hills. After moving from its former location in Odaiba, the museum reopened in February 2024 as an even larger and more immersive experience.
Officially called Mori Building Digital Art Museum: Epson TeamLab Borderless, the museum features more than 75 digital artworks that blur the boundaries between art, technology, and the visitor. Unlike traditional museums, this is a “museum without a map,” where artworks move, evolve, and interact with each other across rooms.
Since reopening, the attraction has already welcomed over 2.3 million visitors from more than 130 countries, making it one of the most talked-about cultural destinations in Tokyo.
If you are visiting Japan, this guide will help you plan the perfect visit.

Must-See Artworks and Highlights

The new museum includes many brand-new installations in addition to famous works from the original location.
Unlike traditional galleries, artworks move across rooms and interact with each other, creating a truly “borderless” environment.
Bubble Universe: Spherical Crystallized Light
One of the most stunning rooms.
Hundreds of glowing spheres fill a mirrored space, reflecting endlessly to create the illusion of an infinite galaxy. When visitors touch the spheres, the light spreads through the room like a chain reaction.
Megalith Crystal Formation
This massive installation uses giant crystal structures with projections of flowers, waves, and abstract forms flowing across the surfaces.
The contrast between light and shadow creates a dramatic and cinematic atmosphere.
Infinite Crystal World
Thousands of LED lights hang from the ceiling, forming a sparkling digital waterfall that changes color and pattern as visitors move through the space.
Flowers and People
A signature TeamLab piece where flowers bloom, scatter, and evolve with the seasons. Visitors become part of the artwork as their movements influence the environment.
Sketch Factory – Create Your Own Digital Creature

Located in Garden Plaza A B1, this interactive area allows visitors to create their own artwork.
Here’s how it works:
- Draw a fish, jellyfish, or sea creature on paper
- The drawing is scanned digitally
- Your creature comes to life and swims in the digital ocean
You can even purchase souvenir badges or prints featuring your creation.
It’s especially popular with families and children.
Facilities Inside the Museum
EN TEA HOUSE
One of the most unique experiences in the museum.
When you order tea, digital flowers bloom inside the cup and spread across the table, reacting to movement.
Each visitor must order one drink to participate.
